After seeing this post (business books to read next year) by Grant Griffiths, I thought I’d add a couple to the list:
Here Comes Everybody
An excellent review and history of the “crowdsourcing” and open-source movement with implications for the future of business, commerce, and culture.
Makers
Speculative fiction at its best, Doctorow examines the near future where the mortgage and financial crises have contibuted to the formation of squatter-towns that no one can evict as well as a brand-new form of venture capitalism – or perhaps it should be called “venture litigation”.
Meatball Sundae
This is an older book by Seth Godin, but if you have not read it, you need to get it. (click the link above) Learn some interesting anecdotes about the history of marketing and practical applications for improving your own marketing practices.
For the FTC: I purchased all of these books myself, I read them all the way through, and highly recommend them to anyone in business.
And, yes, I do get a 4% commission from Amazon if you click the links & buy the books. It’s not a lot of money but it helps pay for the hosting. Thanks.
